how to generate an .X.err
How do I get X to generate a .X.err file when running startx so I can do a post-mortem analysis? fact: distro is slack 8.0 (dont get angry! I still use SuSE for production machines, but this mailing list is the best!) Thanks, Raul
do type startx you'll get startx is a function startx () { /usr/X11R6/bin/startx ${1+"$@"} 2>&1 | tee $HOME/.X.err } if you're in bash on a default suse installation copy the line, and the X.err file should be created regards Anders On Thursday 06 December 2001 15.59, Raúl Gutiérrez Segalés wrote:
