Hi, According to some rumors floating around, is SuSE 7.3 coming out very soon? I have a system here that needs a rebuild (not too urgent) and was wondering if it's worth waiting for 7.3 or sticking 7.2 on? Cheers, - Chris

I think it's just a rumor.. I couldn't find anything online on SuSE 7.3. If I were a SuSE executive, I would wait a little longer to get all the bugs sorted out of YOU and KDE 2.2. But that's me... Well, I've heard nothing about 7.3 coming out anytime soon. So until you hear it from SuSE or somewhere reliable. Don't sweat it. -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org cat CE|ME|NT|XP > /dev/null

It's about time for the next version to be entering beta, at any rate. As for fixing bugs in YOU; well, isn't that exactly the sort of things you get in a new release? (although fixes for existing versions will (I guess) be released at roughly the same time.) 7.3 is something to look forward to, at any rate; I've heard rumours on ext3 and jfs support, YAST2 NIS configuration (as well as more YAST2 modules, like runlevel service administration) and some significant SaX2 improvements. (Unfortunately, I can't remember where I heard the rumours.) cheers, Gideon.

What's new on a YaST2 NIS configuration ? -- Thorsten Kukuk http://www.suse.de/~kukuk/ kukuk@suse.de SuSE GmbH Deutschherrenstr. 15-19 D-90429 Nuernberg -------------------------------------------------------------------- Key fingerprint = A368 676B 5E1B 3E46 CFCE 2D97 F8FD 4E23 56C6 FB4B

Here's something really strange:
7.3a is our internal version number for our work tree since we made the 7.2 master. It didn't even say which version number the next release will have.
