01 01 01 Msg after a Fresh installation when I boot the PC
Hi to all... after I finish the installation of SuSE 7.3, I proceed to reboot the PC... and after it tries to reboot I get tons of 01 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 01 01 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 01 01 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 0101 01 01 on the Screen... any idea ? ~ maybe, lilo does not like the disk geometry it sees . . . try booting from installation CD , then check that you have mounted /boot partition next run command < mk_initrd > finally run command < lilo > -- best wishes ____________ sent on Linux ____________
Ed, Had this once on an OLD OLD drive and I think the fix was to remove "lba32" from /etc/lilo.conf and re-run lilo. If my memory is wrong the folks here will soon remind me. Of course, you'll need to boot from the CD and run "installed system" to get to that point :o) Let me know if my memory is out to lunch. Damian
