[opensuse] installing on an aspire one
i need some help installing opensuse on to my aspire one. i made the bootable usb with openSUSE-11.1-NET-i586.iso but i dont know how to complete the install instructions in setup. it asks me to choose a source medium, im given three choices dvd/cdrom, network, and hard disk which one do i chose? what information do i need to know to make the right selection? i followed the instructions here; http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_on_the_Aspire_One, but im at a loss. i was under the impression that the installation would be completed over the net. what im i not getting? thank 4 the help in advance. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The version of openSuSE you have used is made for network install. If you have already an ISO image of the entire DVD, you could choose to install from your hard disk (not very sure of this option). I have a similar model and I have used the network install -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I put the iso on the second partition (in my case, ext2) of my pendrive and point the installer (text mode, there might not be enough memory to do a gui mode install) to it rather than doing a network install. It needed some manual tweaking afterwards, but otherwise it works well on the AAO. Charles -- There are no threads in a.b.p.erotica, so there's no gain in using a threaded news reader.
