[opensuse] How to avoid using menu sections with YaST Bootloader
When I use YaST to set up my boot loader, I noted that is uses the menu section to define how to boot up previous versions of openSuSE. This is resulting in a chain of menus, each leading to the menu list for the previous version of SuSE, which is a PITA when trying to boot up an old version of openSuSE... Is there any way to tell YaST not to use menu sections when it proposes a merge with other existing GRUB bootloaders? Marc...

They're only proposals. Highlight what you don't want, then click the delete button. You may find it easier to ignore all but the oldest version, updating it manually as necessary, and using only it for booting, the main caveat being that older enough versions may not be able to read the disk format of newer versions (e.g. ext4 from 10.1, or 256k extX inode sizes from 10.0). -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
