Hey everyone, I'm new to the list and just wanted to say hi :-) My name is Matt and have been using SUSE for about 2 years now. My friend Rob turned me on to SUSE 8 pro and it helped me get away from Windows "cold turkey" - I could not be more happy. I'm currently using 9 pro and am looking forward to getting 9.1 pro to see what the new 2.6 kernel has to offer. Matt Burke Textbox Networks
Wait until you try your first yast online update. Updates are a breeze. And when your friends say they are sorry about the virus they sent you can gently educate them. CWSIV On Wed, 2004-06-09 at 17:22, Matt Burke wrote:

My Minister and I were chatting after service one day when I learned that she had something of interest to me. She offered to e-mail the word document to me, but prefaced it with the fact her home system had been infected by a nasty virus. "No problem" I said, "I'm running Linux it shouldn't be a problem." Offer to setup her system to dual boot and provide lessons. You could wind up wiring the church. In fact that would be a good way to work into the local home schooling association as well. The more we spread the word the more we benefit. CWSIV On Sun, 2004-06-13 at 06:18, Mike McMullin wrote:

I have been using YOU to update my system for the last 2 years now, not sure what you are getting at there..... I'm new to the list, not to SuSE
I have used suse since 7.0 and IMHO its vastly easier to setup now hardware detection, while imperfect, is much improved. 7.0 took two hours to setup and nine to install on a PI 233 with 128mb and a 2 speed cdrom. 9.1 on a PII 350 with 256mb and 50 speed cdrom took only 1.5 hours of which about 20 minutes was expert install and detailed package selection.
