Hello, everyone. Well, I'm back after a few weeks away having been busy moving from the US to Ireland. I was just trying to resubscribe myself to the splinter group mailing list spawned a couple of months ago after all the anti-Fred mailings (I know many of you are also subscribed to it), but it seems to be down. Is that list still live ? If so, does anyone have the subscription email address ? Thanks, Stuart.

What's this? What's this splinter group mailing list all about? I haven't been able to read list emails for the last four months (back a couple of weeks ago) so I don't know anything about this...

Yes, it is still up, I assume with the axtraordinary event happening, Linux advocacy took a backseat.... (it had to also move a couple of times :) Current information for list is at: http://mamalala.de/maillist.html Christian Klippel (mamalala.de) the admin of the list and host of the mentioned domain has been kind enough to allow the list to propagate. Although many events are superceding normal business, I believe it is important to continue with regular life as much as possible.... That is how we can all fight this barbaric and cowardly act. Thank You, -- Tony Zafiropoulos Let's pray for all of the people that lost their lives in this cowardly act... where the cowards that attacked our World Trade Center and Pentagon do not even have the courage to state who they are. Hello, Chris. About 3-4 months back, the old flame war kicked off again surrounding Fred Miller's news posts. The volume of pro and anti-Fred messages was exponentially larger than Fred's messages ever were. As such, someone offered to host a Linux advocacy list spawned from the members of the SuSE list. I do not believe it to be restricted to those users, but that is certainly where it began. Since the new group was free to discuss general computing issues in addition to SuSE specific issues, Fred began posting his news messages there. The intent was that those seeking SuSE help would continue to use the SuSE list, and those wishing to discuss broader issues would do so on the lx-talk list. Having been away from these lists for a couple of months myself, it will probably take me a few days to get back into the swing of things. Most of the noisier (meant in a nice way) people from the SuSE list subscribed to the lx-talk list when it began, so you should see some familiar names there if it is still as active as it used to be. If you go to www.mamalala.de, you can find the info and the archive, although I found the archive to be down when I checked it earlier. That really is a shame :-( I tend to like a few OT posts (out of 170..) to spice up my life and give me a break from 'thinking' messages. I was wondering where Fred's messages had gone. It's a shame that people took it that far. Oh well, I suppose I'll have to look into that.
