I have SuSE 9.1 with the latest YOU (which added a security patch for Mozilla 1.7). I just got a gmail (Google mail) account, and to my dismay, mozilla crashes immediately upon logging in to gmail (just after it displays "Loading..."). Gmail does not support (nor work with) opera or konqueror, so I am stuck.
Anyone encounter this problem? Known fixes or workaround?
foxfire,galeon,epiphany works for me
Galeon crashed too. Not surprising, since it's based on mozilla. I don't yet have firefox or epiphany installed. I don't really want to run a different browser (especially ones that didn't come with SuSE) just for gmail if I could help it. -Ti

Not really something that can be answered on this list. Better to go to the people who actually work on the code... http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=245916 Joe

Thanks, so this is a known problem. Oh well, I don't really *have* to use gmail anyway, but Google should have made gmail less picky about the browser that it would run on. I think I'll just wait until an official SuSE update comes along that fixes this. -Ti
