As this is a mailinglist about Beta software, it could be that people want to take screenshots of the instalation (To show errors or show friends) Here ia a page that explains how this is done. This is just to take screenshots during the instalation. Instead of a floppy as explained on the page, I just mount something else. houghi -- To generalize is to be an idiot. -- William Blake

This doesn't need a large explanation - so it's not critical that the URL is missing ;-) Just press the PrintScreen key whenever you like. A dialog appears that allows you to save the screenshot anywhere (please use a directory in /mnt before the very first reboot because everything else is on the ramdisk ;-) Some dialogs require to press tab and try PrintScreen again. If needed, press tab several times. Unfortunately, there are also some dialogs that don't support PrintScreen (#72357) - use a digital camera as workaround... Ummm, dump question, But.... Wouldn't the VNC Install option and make the snapshoots on another machine be an easier and more effect way to do this? Jerry

That sums it up. The site http://www.suse.de/~sh/yast2/screen-shots/ also includes some more detailed info on how to do this.

That depends. I don't have VNC installed, so I would need to install it first. Pressing PrintScreen a few times for me is easier. The screens that I ca.'t capture are not that important to me to show. YMMV. houghi -- Ah say, son, you're about as sharp as a bowlin' ball.
