[SLE] network problem
Hello I am having a problem connecting a SuSE6.3 486 to
a SuSE6.3 server.
What happens is on bootup I see it send out a ping when
setting up route. It sets it up fine along with eth0.
After that I cannot ping out of the 486. I also cannot
ping the 486 from the server.
Server: 192.168.1.1
486: 192.168.1.3
route output is:
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
localnet * 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth0
loopback * 255.0.0.0 U 0 0 0 lo
default 192.168.1.1 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0
I can ping the ethernet card itself but that's all from the 486. All
other machines on the network are working as advertised.

The only thing I can think of is whether or not the network 'localnet' is specified correctly in /etc/networks. Otherwise I see no problems (from this stuff). If you do a 'route -n' then localnet should show up as 192.168.1.0 .
