Re: [opensuse] Problems with smart and channel update

I use two SuSE 10.0 machines with identical repository config on both machines (means: same channels, same servers but different proxies). One is located here in the company and the other one at home.
The machine here often does not (seems not to do!) read the channel lists from the server AND doesn't give an error message for that.
e.g. this morning: (sorry for the long lines)
a) good machine prints after a "smart update"

Both machines had a "smart update" yesterday morning at the same time, so they should have found the same new packages.
So why can this machine not resolve the channels lists from the server? When I start an "apt update" on the same machine, it reads all repository metadata fine and has no problem in finding new packages.(Identical repository config for apt and smart)
Another idea: Is there the possibility to do something like a debug during a "smart update"? I have to use the companies proxy here and maybe smart cannot work with this proxy?
Any Ideas? (This behavior makes me use apt on my machines because I can not trust smart; but smart shall be the apt replacement in 10.1 AFAIK.)
Sorry for the long post again, but the old one is nearly one week old and mayby deleted by everybody allready. The problem still exists. I can force smart to download the channel information by deleting all files in /var/lib/smart/channels. Then smart will retrieve the complete channel information. This morning most of the kde packages were ready for update (45 packages at all on my machine) and a "smart update" without deleting the above mentioned files did not find ANY file for update. Does noone here have any idea? Thanks in advance Andreas
