    Looking for an truely exciting Linux Distribution? Arch Linux might be just what you are looking for. Arch Linux is a "true" Linux distribution unshackeled by any corporate conglomerate master which allows the developers to focus on software development. I simply cannot say enough good things about this distrubution. It's that good, but a cautionary note, it doesn't come with training wheels. It has just what a great linux distribution should have and nothing else.

    KDE 4.3.3 has been released. The amazing thing with KDE4 this time is -- it actually works! If you have stayed away from kde4, the time has come to take another look. It still is rough around the edges, but it's becoming solid enough for everyday use. http://kde.org/

    Enlightenment -> Wow! Continuing with Linux desktops, if you have not installed and tried Enlightenment, you are missing out. Enlightenment currently has two branches; E16 (a.k.a. DR16) is the stable branch and E17 (a.k.a. DR17) is the development branch. Both desktops are fantastic, full featured desktops featuring an incleadibly light-weight, efficient and themed UI. http://enlightenment.org/

    Gnome - Do not overlook this desktop! It is a fantastic desktop packed with features not found anywhere else. Don't listen to the uninformed mantra of "Gnome is to simple...It doesn't allow enough user control..." -- nonsense. Gnome is a great desktop, that frankly doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
