Is there anyone on this mailing list that=

willing to telnet to my machine and login as root (I will give you a temp. IP=

and password) to look around at why my X Server is not functioning. I have tr=

numerous things and got some good leads from Lenz but I cannot figure out wha=

One thing that would help is what is the message you get when you
attempt to start your Xserver? Have you run XfreeSetup (or XfreeConfig)
and set up your machine? In order for Xfree to run, you need to have a
symlink established to the correct server for your video card, has this
been done?

I just got linux reinstalled on my system after repartioning my drives. I
recently added the apg ati expert(a)work 8m video card an got it configured
with the mach64 server. sax recognized the card but did not probly setup
the card. I used XF86Setup to configure it an was sucessful.=20
the 1st time kde was ran the mad the dir an all then gave me an error msg=20
please change passwork in ~/.kde/share/apps/kfm/magic
why was this.=20

I don't think it's really necessary to have root priviledges to diagnose
the problem. User account access should allow read rights which should be
sufficient for the task.
