[opensuse-es] Ayuda con diagnostico HD
Tube un problema con un disco en el cual estaba instalado opensuse 11.3 (de un amigo). Aparentemente el origen del error, puede haber sido que mientras estaba corriendo el fsck repetidas veces, con la partición de sistema, apagaron repetidas veces a lo bruto, cortando la energía. Ya lo desconecté de mi cpu.
Probablemente halla sido algun sector defectuoso que quedó marcado al
formatear, y ya no causa mas problemas.

Tube un problema con un disco en el cual estaba instalado opensuse 11.3 (de un amigo).
Aparentemente el origen del error, puede haber sido que mientras estaba corriendo el fsck repetidas veces, con la partición de sistema, apagaron repetidas veces a lo bruto, cortando la energía.
Esto es lo que tiraba el dmesg al tratar de montar la particion de sistema:

Para sacartme la duda, despues de formatear la partición, probé a montarla, no dio error, probé a copiar 1.3 Gb de datos, sin error, y luego le corri el test corto con smartctl:

Pues un test largo de un disco de 320G calcula mas o menos de 1,5 a 2 horas.
La semana pasada le pase yo uno a un disco de 1,5T y tardo mas o menos 5 horas.
Parece que lo he hecho a propósito, acabo de escribir un post sobre
discos Seagate en mi blog sobre el asunto de los sectores

Ya lo desconecté de mi cpu.
Probablemente halla sido algun sector defectuoso que quedó marcado al formatear, y ya no causa mas problemas.

Eché un vistazo a tu blog.
Hace muchos años, los discos Seagate, tenían fama de ser buenos, hasta
que esa fama se transformó en mala fama.
Desde hace unos 15 años, y personalmente lo he comprobado, los discos
IBM, eran excelentes, y luego como le vendió la fabrica a Hitachi,
pasaron a tener esta marca.
Pero desde hace 10 años a la actualidad, la marca de la que mejor se
habla es Western Digital.
Si había un sector dañado, debe haber quedado recolocado en el
formateo (lo hice 3 veces)

Pues un test largo de un disco de 320G calcula mas o menos de 1,5 a 2 horas.
La semana pasada le pase yo uno a un disco de 1,5T y tardo mas o menos 5 horas.

: Ya lo desconecté de mi cpu.
Probablemente halla sido algun sector defectuoso que quedó marcado al formatear, y ya no causa mas problemas.
No se si realmente vale la pena corer el test largo, y tampoco tengo ide cuanto puede tardar.

Tube un problema con un disco en el cual estaba instalado opensuse 11.3 (de un amigo).
Aparentemente el origen del error, puede haber sido que mientras estaba corriendo el fsck repetidas veces, con la partición de sistema, apagaron repetidas veces a lo bruto, cortando la energía.

Para sacartme la duda, despues de formatear la partición, probé a montarla, no dio error, probé a copiar 1.3 Gb de datos, sin error, y luego le corri el test corto con smartctl:

Formateando se recolocan los sectores dañados?
La verdad que estar testeando 2 horas un disco, no me entusiasma mucho.
Al menos si le digo a mi amigo que no hace falta cambiar el disco, se
va a poner contento (hasta que vuelva a fallar ja ja ja)

Para sacartme la duda, despues de formatear la partición, probé a montarla, no dio error, probé a copiar 1.3 Gb de datos, sin error, y luego le corri el test corto con smartctl:

Formateando se recolocan los sectores dañados?
Pues no, no lo hacen...
La verdad que estar testeando 2 horas un disco, no me entusiasma mucho.
Al menos si le digo a mi amigo que no hace falta cambiar el disco, se va a poner contento (hasta que vuelva a fallar ja ja ja)

: Ya lo desconecté de mi cpu.
Probablemente halla sido algun sector defectuoso que quedó marcado al formatear, y ya no causa mas problemas.
No se si realmente vale la pena corer el test largo, y tampoco tengo ide cuanto puede tardar.

Tube un problema con un disco en el cual estaba instalado opensuse 11.3 (de un amigo).
Aparentemente el origen del error, puede haber sido que mientras estaba corriendo el fsck repetidas veces, con la partición de sistema, apagaron repetidas veces a lo bruto, cortando la energía.
Esto es lo que tiraba el dmesg al tratar de montar la particion de sistema:

No se si realmente vale la pena corer el test largo, y tampoco tengo ide cuanto puede tardar.
Extended self-test routine recommended polling time: ( 73) minutes. Creo que esto es una estimación de lo que puede tardar. Hace un mes hice el mismo test en un HD similar y me tardo unos 40 min. Eso si, fue utilizando una pc que no tenia Linux, por lo que utilice el

La manera de limpiarlos es: dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdX que borra todo el disco escribiendo en todo él. Antes (y periódicamente), debes hacer el test SMART largo, que incluye un chequeo de superficie (por eso tarda tanto).
