Creo recordar que era: YaST -> xinetd -> activa por ejemplo el vsftp (si te falta algún paquete, se instalará automáticamente).

Eso es automático. SuSE emplea para ello el directorio /srv/ftp

Alguna medida que deba tener en cuenta. Mi idea es compartir con amigos archivos ocasionalmente.

Si, haz que solo se pueda acceder mediante usuario y contraseña. Yo al principio configuré para permitir acceso anónimo y en pocos días tenía cientos de accesos de extraños que robaban mis ficheros, ocupando permanentemente todo mi ancho de banda de salida, hasta que me di cuenta.

Si tienes una ip fija, puedes darla a tus amigos y usarla perfectamente. Con ip's variables es más chungo, pero había algún servicio de redirección gratuito que te daba una dirección que apuntaba siempre a la ip real de cada momento. Lo más elegante es registrar una dirección propia. Algunas empresas cobran por ello algo menos de un euro al mes, mientras que otras cobran bastante más. Los dominios .es son bastante más caros que los .com .net .info... La única ventaja de tener una dirección "en letra" es que a la gente le resulta más fácil de recordar que una "en números", pero para todo lo demás, es absolutamente idéntico. Saludos. Miquel.
