Hola, pude hacer funcionar el dvd en un Suse 8,2 gracias a una recomendación que me hizo David D. P. la cual agradezco. Que versión de mplayer usas? La has compilado tu? Prueba a hacer como te dice en la tercera linea empezando por abajo de aqui arriba: cp /etc/codecs.conf /home/krab/.mplayer/codecs.conf

Si sigues teniendo problemas siempre puedes probar con xine, lo tienes en la distribución y funciona muy bien -- Que risa me da toda esa falsa humanidad de los que se dicen buenos Linux Registered User #295781
Fijate que dice claramente que el mplayer no esta compilado con los codecs de audio:

Yo te recomiendo que te bajes las fuentes, instales esos codecs y recompiles
el mplayer.
