Halo Leute, ich habe ein kleines Problem mit Netscape. Wenn ich den Browser aufrufe passiert es ab und zu,daß das ganze eine Weile dauert,dann kommt die Meldung, daß Netscape ein paar urls nicht gefunden hat. ( Die Adressen aus dem Gedächtnis: internic.net home.netscape.com und noch eine ... ) Ist auch klar,daß er die nicht findet,denn meistens bin ich offline und habe daher keine Namensauflösung. Kann ich diese blöde Verhalten irgendwo abstellen und wenn ja wo ? System: Netscape 4.77 Suse 7.1 (incl Updates) Gruß an alle Harry

Nee, abschalten habe ich jedenfalls nicht hinbekommen und trotz intensiver Suche auch nirgendwo gefunden, das Problem hatte sich bei mir in dem Moment erledigt, wo ich einen eigenen DNS aufgesetzt hatte. Habe es dann aber auch nicht mehr so weiterverfolgt, weil ich mittlerweile eigentlich keinen NS mehr nutze (Konqueror und Mozilla zusammen können eigentlich alles darstellen). Was willst Du daran rumspielen? Also meine präferierte Lösung wäre immer noch /etc/hosts und "order hosts bind" in /etc/host.conf

Was willst Du daran rumspielen? Also meine präferierte Lösung wäre immer noch /etc/hosts und "order hosts bind" in /etc/host.conf
Vielleicht den bind irgendwie dazu bringen,daß er die Namen (und nur die) einfach länger im cache behält, sagen wir eine Woche,dann würde die Zeit bis zum nächste "Online" sicher überbrückt werden. Nur so 'ne Idee ...
