Die Meldungen, die Du gepostet hast, sind anscheinend dann nur Folgefehler. Hast Du das Laufwerk mal ueberprueft? Es ist laut Deiner boot.msg eine IBM-Festplatte:

Es gibt das Tool Drive Fitness Test (DFT) von IBM/Hitachi, das wuerde ich mal versuchen. Wenn das keine Probleme ausgibt und es mit einer frueheren Version von SuSE ging, dann wuerde ich es auch mal mit "failsafe" (siehe Andreas Mail) und/oder einem Wechsel des Kernels probieren. Mache eines nach dem andern, sonst weisst Du am Ende nicht, wo nun eigentlich das Problem lag und was es geloest hat. Fest- platte testen (evtl. auch Speicher - kaputter Speicher wirkt sich manchmal auf ganz seltsame Weise aus), und wenn das alles OK ist, dann schaun wir mal nach dem Kernel. Von YaST wuerde ich da ehrlich gesagt Abstand nehmen, weil Du den momentanen Kernel nicht ersetzen, sondern Dir einen zusaetzlichen zum alten dazu installieren willst, den man optional booten kann. Wie das geht, kannst Du z.B. auf http://www.dhaller.de/linux/multikernel.html oder (hier auch fuer RPMs) auf http://www.thomashertweck.de/kernel.html nach- lesen. CU, Th.

Das habe ich nun getestet, Festplatte scheint i.O. zu sein:

Anschließend habe ich die 9.0-DVD eingelegt und mal das Modul "System
reparieren" ausprobiert. Nur Zufall, das Modul habe ich bei der
Erstinstallation gar nicht wahrgenommen. Hier wurden Fehler in der
"Swap-Partition" und im "Boot-Loader" repariert. Dabei wurde auch die
SCSI-Emulation von dem DVD entfernt. Die folgenden 5-6 Boot-Vorgänge
klappten einwandfrei. Nachdem ich dann wieder "hdb=ide-scsi"
als Bootparameter eingegeben hatte, traten die Probeme wieder auf.
Trotzdem kommen noch Meldungen, die ich nicht erklären kann:

ppa ist ein Modul, das fuer das Ansprechen von aelteren ZIP- Laufwerken zustaendig ist. Hast Du so etwas denn irgendwo in- stalliert? Parallelport oder so?

Hast Du Probleme mit dem BIOS? Es gibt hier einen Segmentation Fault bein der Ausfuehrung von hwclock... Nicht so gut.

Aeh, wie kann denn eigentlich so etwas funktionieren? Du hast einen Master (hda) und einen Slave (hdb) an IDE0. Ferner hast Du einen Slave (hdd) an IDE1 - wo aber ist der Master an IDE1, wo also ist hdc? Haengt da noch irgendwo ein Geraet? Ansonsten wundert es mich, dass das ueberhaupt funktioniert...

Hier wird versucht, das ppa Modul zu laden, was o.a. Fehler- meldung produziert. Hattest Du so etwas mal im System? Ist der Drucker irgendwie etwas besonderes? Haengt noch etwas am Parallelport?

Wenn es wirklich keinen Master an IDE1 gibt, koennte es sein, das dadurch Probleme am IDE-Kanal erzeugt werden und letzt- endlich auch Auswirkungen auf hda haben. Da wuerde ich ganz genau mal nachschauen...

Das sieht aber doch nicht so gut aus. Kann es sein, dass dieses CD-Laufwerk nicht mit DMA (bzw. dem DMA-Modus) zurecht kommt? CU, Th.
Hallo Olaf, hallo Thomas, hallo Leute, ich schnappe mir mal nur eine der Fehlermeldungen raus. Am Samstag, 8. November 2003 00:41 schrieb Olaf Koenig:

Die Frage mag blöd klingen, aber: Was passiert bei einem sleep 2 oder bei echo 1 2 3 | awk '{print $1}' oder ps ? Wenn da auch SegFaults kommen: Willkommen im Club ;-) Wir treffen uns übrigens im Thread "SuSE 9.0 und segfaults", ich hab nämlich auch dieses Problem mit dem SuSE-Kernel der 9.0 Momentan setze ich wieder meinen 2.4.16-vanilla ein, der läuft [1]. Falls Du also noch einen (älteren?) Reservekernel hast, probier mal den. Ach so: lass bitte mal den memtest einige Stunden laufen, um fehlerhaften RAM auszuschließen. Gruß Christian Boltz [1] Hat allerdings den Nachteil, dass ich immer noch nicht dazu gekommen bin, der Fehlerursache auf den Grund zu gehen.
