DMA-Modus funktioniert nicht...
Hi, der DMA-Modus meiner 2. IDE-Festplatte (hdc) und meines IDE-Brenners (hdd) funktioniert unter SuSE Linux 9.1 Prof. nicht (unter der 8.1 hat es aber funktioniert)... Ich weiss nicht ob es schon einen Test-Kernel mit dem Fix dafür gibt, aber er sollte bald kommen. Philipp

Da kann man streiten :) Das der Kernel das ignoriert ist vor allem Andre Hedrick zu verdanken, damit ein Anwender volle Kontrolle über den Inhalt seiner Festplatte bekommt. Jens Axboe hat einen Patch geschrieben, der dazu führt, das man dem Kernel explizit sagen muss, dass er die hpa ignorieren soll. Der Patch wird gerade getestet und sollte demnächst in einem der Testkernel in Huberts FTP-Verzeichnis auftauchen. Philipp
