Hi all, I'm using an old computer as a Linux box with an internal ISA modem in it. My new computer, which runs on Windows XP :-(, has only PCI slots on board. Both machines are connected on a LAN. I was wondering if it was possible (I know it is, but not how) to use the modem in my Linux box via Windows XP over the network. Thanks in advance for your answers. Hi, seems, you want to use this modem for an internet account. So you should configure your linux box as an router with dial on demand (there are lots of documents on this topic in the archives), i think you should use wvdial to connect the web. Searching for "router" and "dial on demand" will give you all needed information. If you want to use the modem for any other purposes, it´s the best to open a telnet/ better -ssh -account on your linux box (putty works well under XP for this) and to operate the modem via ttySx (x ... number of your com-port, beginning with zero). Please give more information if you need more help. -- may the tux be with You!
