hat es schon jemand von euch geschafft einen MP3-USB-Stick X4-Tech BogieMan II unter SuSE 9.0 (Kernel 2.4.21) zu mounten. Einen anderen MP3-Stick (SEG) kann ich problemlos als usbstorage-device mounten. Bei dem X4-Tech erhalte ich beim Aufruf von fdisk -l /dev/sdb die Meldung:

Partition table entries are not in disk order

D. h., es sind 4 Partitionen auf dem Stick, die aber von Linux nicht erkannt werden. Formatiert ist der Stick unter Win98 mit FAT, was lt. Handbuch das einzige zulässige Dateiformat ist. Unter Win98 funktioniert das Teil auch einwandfrei.

cfdisk erkennt die Partitionen erst gar nicht. FATAL ERROR: Bad primary partition 0: Partition ends before sector 0 Press any key to exit cfdisk

Laut dem Befehl usbmodules usbmodules --device /proc/bus/usb/001/007 ist es ein usb-storage.

Hat irgendwer eine Idee oder ist es prinzipiell nicht möglich diesen MP3-USB-Stick zu mounten?

Super, das war's. Diese Art zu mounten kannte ich bisher noch nicht

Hast Du eine Ahnung wie ich auf solch eine "Superfloppy" ein Filesystem drauf bekomme ?

Bei meinem NoName China MP3 USB Stick wird in der Bedienungsanleitung davor gewarnt, MS Windows Tools zum Formatieren / Partitionieren zu benutzen. Daher habe ich es auch nicht mit Linux probiert. Mit der beiligenden Software geht es aber (leider nur Windows). Damit habe ich den Stick formatiert und danach wurde er auch von Linux "normal" erkannt (/dev/sdx1, also mit Partition).
