Problem bei SuSE 9.0 pro mit Kernel 2.6.5-10.14-default ...
Tag zusammen, komme mit meinen kleinen Wissen nicht alleine weiter! Auch mit der Hilfe von googel und des NG-Archives nicht. Vielleicht kann mir ja von Euch jemand einen Rat geben wie ich mein Fehler in den Griff bekommen kann. Stand: SuSE 9.0 pro mit unveränderten Kernel der KRAXEL Version 2.6.5-10.14-default, Hardware ist ein ASUS A7N8X deluxe! SATA läuft wunderbar, Firewire ist ok, SCSI ist ok, LPT ist ok, Grafik ist ok, Netzwerk mit 3Com5x9 ist ok Probleme: a) USB klappt nicht Scanner wird nicht gefunden b) Sound klappt nicht c) Yast2 online update geht auch nicht mehr An diesen drei Dingen knabbere ich zur Zeit hier herum. Leider ist es am PC seit der Umstellung sehr leise geworden und kopieren geht auch nicht mehr. Hier ein paar Ausschnitte aus dem boot.log

Vielen Dank für Tips und Hilfestellungen zu meinen Problem(en). Unter Kernel 2.4.x war alles paletti und hat funktioniert, bis auf SATA das in gewisserweise ein Lotoriespiel beim booten war. Wenn der PC mal hohgefahren war dann ging er auch. Nur bis dahin war es schwirg. Mit dem Kernel 2.6.x war es damit dann vorbei, halt mit den beschriebenen Einschränkungen die ich gerne noch weg bringen würde. Gruß Bobo -- Email: Markus.Borowy@gmx.de

Das duerfte ein SuSE Kernel aus H. Mantels FTP Verzeichnis sein.

Das ist keine Fehlerbeschreibung. Mit "klappt nicht" kann man nichts anfangen. Was machst Du genau, was passiert (oder auch nicht), welche Fehlermeldungen gibt es, was wird bei Deinen Versuchen evtl. in die diversen Logfiles geschrieben, usw. usw. Wurde der Scanner ueber YaST eingerichtet?
b) Sound klappt nicht
Siehe oben. Auch das ist keine Fehlerbeschreibung.
c) Yast2 online update geht auch nicht mehr

Siehe http://www.nsa.gov/selinux/. Ich glaube nicht, dass Du mit den verschiedenen Security Models beim Kernel etwas anfangen kannst... Die Frage hierzu hatten wir auch schon oefters und eine Antwort findet sich im Archiv von suse-linux.

DSDT steht fuer "Differentiated System Description Table" und steht im Zusammenhang mit ACPI. Angepasste DSDT Info kann der initrd mitgegeben werden, siehe dazu http://gaugusch.at/kernel.shtml - das ist bei Dir aber nicht der Fall, deswegen wird die DSDT Info vom BIOS genommen. Nichts anderes sagt Dir der Kernel. Ebenfalls eine Frage, deren Antwort sich im Archiv findet.

/usr/src/linux/Documentation/devices.txt: nachschauen, was Character Device mit Major Nummer 212 und Minor Nummer 0 ist und dann entscheiden, ob das gebraucht wird oder nicht. Falls nicht, dann die /etc/modprobe.conf bzw. modprobe.conf.local anpassen und den Versuch des Ladens dieses Modules verhindern.
