Fehlermeldungen in messages
Hallo! Seit Kernel 2.4.10 bekomme ich solche Fehlermeldungen in meiner /var/log/messages: ------------schnipp-------------------------------- Sep 29 22:17:09 linux1 -- MARK -- Sep 29 22:18:16 linux1 kernel: __alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0x1d2/0) from c01293ee Sep 29 22:18:16 linux1 kernel: VM: killing process cupsd Sep 29 22:18:16 linux1 kernel: __alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0x1d2/0) from c01293ee Sep 29 22:18:17 linux1 last message repeated 4 times Sep 29 22:18:17 linux1 kernel: __alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0xf0/0) from c01293ee Sep 29 22:18:17 linux1 kernel: __alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0x1d2/0) from c01293ee Sep 29 22:18:17 linux1 kernel: __alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0x1d2/0) from c01293ee Sep 29 22:18:17 linux1 kernel: VM: killing process opbs Sep 29 22:18:18 linux1 kernel: __alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0xf0/0) from c01293ee Sep 29 22:18:22 linux1 kernel: __alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0x1d2/0) from c01293ee Sep 29 22:18:22 linux1 kernel: __alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0x1d2/0) from c01293ee Sep 29 22:18:22 linux1 kernel: VM: killing process opbs Sep 29 22:18:27 linux1 kernel: __alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0x1d2/0) from c01293ee ----------------schnapp--------------------------------- Wobei der Prozess cupsd klar sein dürfte, bei opbs handelt es sich um einen Clientprozess von der Backupsoftware Arkeia. Danke schon mal, -- mfg Peter Küchler, Planungsverband Frankfurt Region Rhein Main

Stop! Halt! /me hat linux-kernel doch z.Z. abonniert und ein grep 'page_alloc'.... Siehe: Message-ID: <20010924040208.A624@localhost.localdomain> vom 24.09.2001 und F'ups auf der lkml... Marcelo Tosatti schrieb dazu in einem fup: ,---- | Currently the page freeing success accounting is completly broken (it does | not report a task has made progress while it did), and the page allocation | code uses that information to know if it should or not try to keep calling | the freeing code. `---- -dnh -- 'using Outlook is like hanging a sign on your back that reads "PLEASE MESS WITH MY COMPUTER."' --Scott Rosenberg
