Hallo Liste, ich habe mir vom Suse-Server mal die Sourcen vom 2.4.2-Kernel gezogen. Flugs das ganze kompiliert und Kernel panic beim booten, Fehlermeldung : fsck.ext2 No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/sda12 The superblochk could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem. Danach könnte ich noch einen manuellen check mache ich aber nicht, ich boote aber lieber mit ^D neu denn : Auf /dev/sda12 ist definitiv ein ext2-System. Schließlich läuft der 2.2.18-Kernel dort problemlos. Kann ich eigentlich beide Kernel (2.2.x 2.4.x) parallel installieren ? Kennt jemand das Problem ? Mein System : Athlon 1000 auf Tyan Trinity Board. Tekram DC390 SCSI-Controller.IBM 18GB-Platte. Suse 7.1 mfg Harry

hast Du ext2-Support in den Kernel fest mit einkompiliert?
