Ich untersuche zur Zeit gerade, welche Art von Verschlüsselung und Signatur für mich geeignet sein könnte. Leider habe ich da ja die Wahl zwischen zwei Protokollen. Kann mir jemand einen Rat geben, in welche Richtung ich gehen soll. Ich persönlich benutze zur Zeit Mozilla Mail, möchte aber auf Thunderbird umsteigen. Das aber nur, da ich ab und zu meine Mails auch unter Windows lese und ich dann das gleiche Programm benutzen kann. Außerdem möchte ich fertige Pakete von SuSE für SuSE 9.2 x86_64 verwenden. Ich habe aus meiner persönlichen Sicht einmal die Vor- und Nachteile aufgelistet: S/MIME: Vorteile - Weite Akzeptanz bei kommerziellen Unternehmen, meist Standardverfahren dort - Registrierung des Public Key bei einem kommerziellen Unternehmen - Unterstützung in Thunderbird 1.0.2 - Unterstützung in Evolution 2.0.1 (funktioniert das?) Nachteile: - Registrierung und Erzeugung bei kommerziellen Unternehmen kostet Gebühr - keine Unterstützung in KMail 1.7.1 PGP Vorteile - Weite Akzeptanz bei OpenSource Anhängern - kostenlose Erzeugung und Registrierung von Schlüsseln - Unterstützung in KMail 1.7.1 - Unterstützung in Evolution 2.0.1 (funktioniert das?) Nachteile: - Keine Unterstützung in Thunderbird 1.0.2 (Enigmail funktioniert bei mir mit SuSE x86_64 Version nicht) - wenig Akzeptanz bei kommerziellen Unternehmen, meist sogar unbekannt Gibt es andere Meinungen oder Verbesserungen zu obigem?

Das hier stimmt nicht, KMail kann definitiv, hab hier zwar nur 1.7.2 aufwärts, bin aber sicher, dass das in 1.7.1 auch schon drinnen war. Das Krypto-Modul GpgME bietet beides an.
Gibt es andere Meinungen oder Verbesserungen zu obigem?
Die frage ist halt immer, was können potentielle Mailpartner? Selbst wenn Du sagst PGP ist genau das richtige, bringt es Dir nichts, wenn alle potentiellen Partner S/MIME machen (und umgekehrt).
