I tried to find the statistics for the Polish yast using lokalize and indeed just a few fuzzy and untranslated. Much less than was reported on the above page.

Maybe some of the differences come from the fact that lokalize sometimes does not see all .po files. I don't know if that is the case for some of the Polish .po files. It might be worth to check.

I have re-checked and it doesn't work. I did all unfinished nb tranlations last week and committed the last files Saturday. So stats should show 100%, which they don't. I ran an update right now to make sure but there is nothing to update. I also committed something almost every day last week and the statistics did not change at all during the week. Not a big deal but I think the stats page is a convenient and quick way to check for new strings to translate. I did run the following script in .../pl/po/ and found a fatal error in the file audit-laf.pl.po and a number of warnings. for file in *.po ; do msgfmt -C -c --statistics -o /dev/null $file done So I guess the fatal error prevents proper updating, it should not, but... -- fr.gr. I looked again at the Italian statistics page and I have discovered that is not really OK. In particular, yesterday evening I submitted a new version of yast/s390.it.po that includes last changes available in the pot file. As a result, currently there are 311 strings while in the previous version strings were only 175. The stats page still report 175 strings but it should have been generated (Wed Oct 12 06:07:22 CEST 2011) after I submitted s390.it.po (2011-10-11 22:55:40 +0200 = CEST). So Italian statistics page is not updated correctly. Previously I had not noticed this since we keep all strings translated. Oh, I see. Then the problem is not in the stats script itself, but in server's SVN working copy. I guess, "svn up" (performed before stats calculation) is failing for some reason. Hi Two remarks from my side: 1) Wrong permissions on i18n.o.o

Some of the directories and files on i18n.community.org belong to a userid called "minton". As the cronjob running on that host is executed as cihlarov, the script could not change the ownership and permissions as expected. Results should be found in the cronjob output.

I did "chown -R cihlarov:i18n [...]/htdocs/svn" now to change everything the script touches back to the "original author". Well, great! User ID "minton" is me and by doing that you ruined almost half of my work there =) That is an outstanding example of what good willings can do. It's something about a year now (can't remember exactly) since cihlarov has not touched anything on the stats page, so it was terribly outdated (in terms of a structure and releases) until I volunteered to take care of that. So files owned by minton are just leftovers from debugging phase, so I was just kidding about you ruining something )) The actual problem with permissions is that access rights inside htdocs are not equal for the owner (cihlarov) and group (i18n), which really complicates my life cause of the mentioned cihlarov's inactivity: I can't execute the script or do "svn up" by hand for debugging and bugfixing purposes, I have to put everything in the

2) Script error

I tried to execute the mentioned cronjob on i18n.opensuse.org and got the following error: [...]  suse-i18n/trunk/lcn/50-etc/html-stats.sh: line 389: 0 * 100 / 0: division by 0 (error token is "0") [...] looks like someone with access to the SVN should have a look at least at this line and think about quoting. Yes, the actual counting part of cihlarov's script is still not corrected, this exception happens for non-existent files (sadly, templates dir and language dirs are not always in sync). While it would be good to have this situation handled correctly, this is not so urgent to fix, cause it does not really break anything. You *are* a member of the i18n group already. So a simple "newgrp i18n" would change your primary group to the i18n group. ...and as result, every file that you are touching would belong to the i18n group. We can also put your account permanently into this group, if you like. Yes, I know I'm in i18n group, but that knowledge does not help me when I want to mess with file owned by cihlarov:i18n with permissions rwxr--r-- =) But again: if there are no objections, I'm fine with disabling Klára's cronjob and "move" it to your account, so everything should be fine (after cleaning up the file ownerships). Well, I for sure don't have any objections, that would be just great ;) If there will be any security concerns, I'm perfectly fine with keichwa:i18n ownership. This would be fine and probably wanted, IMO. I'm not sure about the i18n group, but it probably be better, if all members of the group could update the files or run the scripts--even if nobody else than minton currently wants to do it.
