We are in the process creating branches: https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/suse-i18n/branches/SLE10SP1 For SLE10 SP1 https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/suse-i18n/branches/openSUSE-10_2-Branch For openSUSE 10.2 Thus far, none of these branches is open for check-ins. If you want to fix anything 10.2 related, just use the trunk as during the last months. In case of serious ("critical") issues of which you want to see an online update, create a bugzilla entry as well. Most of the translation iusses are by definition not "critical", so do not be disappointed if we cannot release on official update. [opensuse-translation] grub translation - missing file?

Hi Karl, We have a file in lcn branch called bootload.po wich translates the grub used in installation here a screenshot: http://news.softpedia.com/images/extra/LINUX/large/opensusetenthreeinstalla… and after the openSUSE is installed, the bootloader appears this way: http://en.opensuse.org/Branding_Overview:os10.3:Grub with 2 options, Help and Language My question is: the bootloader.po contains or should contain these strings as well? On the home page there is still the OpenSuSE 11.0 Alpha 2 announcement when we are at first Beta! If you want i can update that, but i need translation permission. [opensuse-translation] translate openSUSE+upstream at once: merged pot file, gnome-packagekit

Hallo. I have prepared a very special pot file for gnome-packagegit for both upstream and openSUSE version: http://pack.suse.cz/sbrabec/gnome-packagekit/gnome-packagekit.pot Strings marked as openSUSE/ are in the current openSUSE version, strings marked trunk/ are just now in SVN. It you will translate only openSUSE/ strings, openSUSE will be complete. Translating of trunk/ strings is an investment for the future. If you will consider this approach useful, it is possible to automatize generating of such files (see below). Comparing the difference, some of openSUSE specific strings were apparent mistakes: Internal strings, don't translate: "gtk-about" "gtk-help" "gtk-quit" String "Some updates were not updated" should be translated as "Some updates were not installed", as it was fixed in upstream. In some modules it is possible to reuse button texts within the help texts. The problem is to find a way to eliminate the shortcut denominators such as "&Ok" or "&Cancel" (note the ampersand). It is not that difficult with languages based on latin characters (French, Czech, Dutch, etc.). But for Asian and other script based languages we must work out special routines. Please, describe how you use shortcuts in your language; if you do it the English way, there is no need to send an e-mail, but if you use something such as follows (ja): #. Hi Gabriel, it seems that the new verbum doesn't work well together with Opera - I found this bugreport in the Novell Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=379543 And I can verify it with my Opera too, on the first view all seems fine, but the devil loves the detail: It's not possible to assign/work with a file - since nothing happens when you click on the X.. Hi, I saw that the following files: update-desktop-files-yast update-desktop-files-screensaver had lost all the previous translated messages, resulting in a totaly untranslated file(s). Hi all, I am translating the Persian (Farsi) language for Yast which is already supported but incompletely. The problem is that the Yast should be RTL (Right to Left) for this language. This feature is supported for Arabic language but not for Farsi, and I want to add it. However, I couldn't find the right place for making the necessary changes. All other languages have a number in the total column of 31521 while the total for the Dutch language is 39139. Karl, I found that in pt_BR branch when I download "yast" and "lcn" there are 2 files named add-on.pt_BR.po wich are almost the same (one of them has 2 more strings) and looking in the statistics I saw that in the lcn brach this file doesn't exist. I've also checked with some other languages and this file doesn't exist, only in pt_BR... As a consequence, it would need to be localised also into other languages before becoming part of openSUSE 11.0. The .pot file is attached to this e-mail. I tried to browse the subversion tree via https://forgesvn1.novell.com/viewsvn/suse-i18n , but couldn't open the URL. The error message was: An Exception Has Occurred I then tried the command: $ svn ls https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/suse-i18n but the result was: svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/svn/suse-i18n' svn: Could not open the requested SVN filesystem Is there any ploblem on the server, or, do I need to do something before browsing the subversion tree ? Hi openSUSE translators, As always zypp.po file introduced some new terms and weird word combination. I thought maybe someone knows what do they actually mean. Here is the list of phrases which I don't get: * Solvable - this word occurs pretty often in the new zypp, I believe this is something related to the new SAT solver * "uninstallable providers" - this is the first line, I'm not sure if it is possible to substitute this phrase with "removable providers". * norepo - e.g. "Can't add solvables to norepo." * RepoInfo - e.g. "Can't set RepoInfo for norepo." * "Cannot create public key %s from %s keyring to file %s" - is that a correct English: "create to"? If so, what does it mean? * "It %d, Can't open lock file: %s" - what is this "It %d"? * "Path Parameter parsing not supported for this URL" - why is "Parameter" capitalised? Does it have any special meaning? Maybe some of these are just typos, then still they have to be fixed. Opens ports for foo in order to allow bar Seems like a semitemplately thing, apart from the 'nfs client' bit..? It's the same with line 42, only it's about nfs kernel server instead. Hi translators. I'd like to request translation of the test pages used when configuring the printer. Corrections to the existing czech, german an even english translations are also welcome. Although if you want the system assign a proofreading work automatically to a particular user, this is not possible yet, and I'm not sure how to implement it. For the other hand, you can change to the user to the group 'Unrestricted user', so they will be able to assign a file themself) Hope this helps. Hi everyone, according to the roadmap[0] today is the day the latest POTs should have gotten(or do they still have today?) into SVN. First translation round lasts till 16th April, at 17th April we should have a first localized build for OS 11.0 Beta 1, you can take a look at the roadmap[0] for more details.
