[opensuse-support] Excessive log entries on the warning log from empathy.
Hi, I'm getting thousands of these in the *warn* log. So what system is this on? Is there a config file somewhere to set the logging level? I note that empathy is unmaintained. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Inside empathy? I have not seen it. I can, of course, filter them myself, in syslog.
I note that empathy is unmaintained.
I had no idea. I was using Konversation, which is excellent, but as I'm on XFCE I thought of switching to another one that uses GTK libraries to reduce RAM usage. There is pidgin. Not bad, but on restart does not open the previous chats. There is Polari, but it crashes on trying to open a chat (I have a bunch of core dumps for it). Further, when I tried one (I think it was Polari), the system restarted it automatically on my back, even if I killed 9 it. I had to rename it as /usr/bin/polari.no to control the situation, and then /something/ started empathy automatically. The thing is, if polari has started and refuses to exit, trying to start empathy to test it fails, it can not connect. The only remaining non kde client I know about is HexChat, but my notes say it is too simple. Maybe I could use Thunderbird for chat, I believe it has a client. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. But I am 95% accurate with my signatures. When I use a different version than stated on my signature and I post a question, I add an explicit mention of the used version. If I make a mistake, I correct it on the next post. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)

as it should be. I post my machine specs on the wall beside my desk but many email clients fail to show that information so any expectation that the reader see it is a loosing proposition. but it is *always* accurate. and some emai clients even cut sigs as many are abusive and take up spcace better utilized for other information. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org
