15.5, wireguard, resolve-dns.sh script not available? not needed anymore?

Support, a very simple 15.5 with wireguard, dynamic chaning public ipv4 addresses as endpoint hostname:port i am rather new to this, yet I am not aware if this script for tackling this situation > <https://github.com/WireGuard/wireguard-tools/blob/master/contrib/reresolve-…> is still part of the whole deal, as the wireguard-tools package rpm, does not list this file as its content on leap 15.5 is this deprecated? as maybe > <https://github.com/WireGuard/wireguard-monolithic-historical/blob/master/co…> hints? or whatever that state there means? VPN-Fun (this time with Wireguard)

Hi, after my recent experience with vpnc, which obviously does not support IPv6. I made another attempt with Wireguard, to connect to a IPv6 only host (DS-LITE connection). I could not get Strongswan for IPSec running. I followed the instructions of the FritzBox (6600 cable) and created a working Wireguard connection. At least it claims to work. Here is the startup protocoll: https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/41e4656db770 So, if I'm on a IPv6 Telekom Connection and connect, it still shows Teleckm as provider (although VPN host is in via Vodafone) That means in fact it is not working! If I use an IPv4 connection it claims to work again, but same result - in fact it does not. Above log is from a IPv4 I tried to work this out with AVM support (Manufacturer of FritzBox), no success. Any ideas? Has anyone Wiresguard running (on TW)? Thanks Axel

Blank Login window fields and descriptors:

Hi, after an update to Tumbleweed snapshot 20240125, the Login window entry field key character input and identification field listings are blank. In fact everything is blank for that matter including the user image. KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10 KDE frameworks Version: 5.114.0 Qt Version: 5.15.12 Kernel Version: 6.7.1-1-pae (32-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 - Here's a picture of the current login window: https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/c19b6215f700 Any thoughts on what or which package(s) caused this issue? Hi, After suspending then unsuspending the machine here. Prior open application titlebars are faded (grey in color) and path/location information on the title bar (left side) are a /barely/ legible faded grey in color as well. In order to see the active titlebar description correctly again, I have to open a new instance of the application or any application for that matter. This is going on with applications ranging from Kate to Firefox to KeepassXC. What is going on here? I am using only the default themes and colors found in the KDE desktop appearance options. Minimize and maximizing the window/s itself has no correction to the titlebars display. -Thanks

dhcpd migration to kea

Hi, As ISC has eoled dhcpd server and suggests kea instead, for the new server I am planning to switch to kea. AFAIK kea is not supporting LDAP but since I am not using it not an issue. Has any one made the migration and if so can you share the issues or experiences with kea compared to dhcpd server. Thanks Togan

I use the repository mirroring tool (rmt) to maintain local copies of leap repositories (currently 15.4 and 15.5). Resume often fails with Nvidia graphics

In the last months I often had the issue, that resume from hibernate fails. This is probably caused by a configuration issue with my Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, but I am not sure. Latest zypper dup turned off all rear usb ports:

I just zypper dup this morning on openSUSE Tumbleweed. Then I powercycled, logged into KDE - no mouse connectivity. Moved usb mouse to front usb port on the desktop now mouse is picked up and works. What happened here and how can this be fixed?

Hi, I do not know better where to report this right now. https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Tumbleweed_installation#LiveCDs/Rescue_CD is unable to complete provide download for the following: KDE Live CD - i686 .iso *and* it's GPG signed sha-256. Is this because the 32 bit is not being maintained? Is there a i686 Live KDE Rescue CD available at another location? Where is the best place to locate checksums to verify these particular sha.256 files? Is the main Live DVD a better solution (for troubleshooting) generally since it provides network connection capability?😕 Thanks

[15.5] systemd timer ignores override/config edit

7 days ago I ran 'systemctl cat mdcheck_start.timer' and decided I didn't like either the time or the day of the default, Sunday @01:00, so I did 'systemctl edit mdcheck_start.timer'. Problem with vpnc connection

Hi, I have one working VPN conection to a FritzBox in Germany. Created already long time ago. I now added a second VPN connection. On attempt to connect it instantly reports X1E NetworkManager[15459]: /usr/sbin/vpnc: unknown host `xxbgbieemnmfx698.myfritz.net' although I can ping this host (only accessible with IPv6) Thats a bit strange. Any idea what the issue with vpnc may be? Cheers Axel

Hi list, I just noticed (trying to run 'finger') that my Tumbleweed systems (that's two, ATM 20231226 and 20231225) don't have /var/run/utmp Is this an error/bug, or am I missing something?

Currently running OpenSuse 15.4 with KDE(will be using 15.5 on my new computer as soon as I transfer my files over). In older versions of KDE, it was easy to change the mouse cursor size, color, etc. I've been searching and can't seem to find that anymore. Can the mouse cursor still be modified? If so, how. Leap 15.5 in VMware - GUI fails to start after updates

I've got a test system in VMware Workstation 17.5 that, after applying the updates released since 2023-11-12, hangs upon reaching the start of the Locale service. It's not a "hard hang" - I can't toggle VTs in the VM, but I can connect via SSH. I've been able to reproduce this with a fresh installation as well from the most recent Net install ISO (also in VMware). Adding 'nomodeset' to the kernel line in grub gets me to a text login on tty1, but Xorg still fails to start. Looks like a segfault. The /var/log/Xorg.0.log is at https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/ e8722dd3b81a I've added locks for xorg-x11-server, xorg-x11-server-extra, and xorg-x11- server-Xvfb (the three Xorg packages that show up for updates), but the system still fails to get to a GUI target. iptables not showing a udp port allowance that is set in firewall-cmd and yast firewall settings?

Support, 15.5, simple. one ethernet card, being set to external network zone. firewall-cmd lists one extra udp entry that I have set via the yast firewall settings.
