Can someone tell me where to find ssh either on my disks or on the SuSE website. One place on the website says that it is part of series sec but it's not one of the listed packages for sec. Thanks -- Tristan Burton Mechanical Engineering Department Stanford University tburton@snarf.stanford.edu

This is not on the US cd's. The package comes from http://www.ssh.fi The package is very easy to install. This package needs a licence for commercial use.

It probably will be after Sept. 20. Other distros and the *BSDs are planning on shipping it after the RSA patent expires.

NO, use OpenSSH - www.openssh.com OpenSSH is Free software. SSH is not.
The package is very easy to install.
So is OpenSSH. READ the documentation that comes with it. There are also SuSE RPMs available.
This package needs a licence for commercial use.
That's why most distros and the *BSDs are now supporting OpenSSH. M
I use ssh from http://www.ssh.org and it is just lovely though I didn't find rpms I used the tar.gz package. It comes with support for both ssh1 and ssh2 protocols. meanwhile is there a way of getting to the list admin to set a reply-to header on this list or at least a from header such that I don't unwittingly write to other people who were also just contributing and thus they end up with double copies of the message. NO, PLEASE DON'T START THIS AGAIN! Sorry to shout like this, but we had it before - over and over. And it's plain *wrong* and useless. Visit the archives and read for yourself why it is.
