AW: [suse-security] Two nameservers?
Hi
Can anybody tell me
a) why I should use two nameservers on a Firewall to protect the internal? Does this make sense?
two makes no sense. you'll be setting up only one and bind it to your LAN eth.
b) how to configure this on a SuSE 8.0 machine?
read bind-9 howto. it's fairly simple. HTH Philipp
Hi It sounds like you're looking for something called split horizon DNS. It's not two DNS servers, it just means that your DNS server gives different ips for the same names to queries from internal vs external. Ray On Mon, 2002-10-07 at 08:03, mailinglists@belfin.ch wrote:

You can also try http://cr.yp.to/djbdns.html, secure and simple too. -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen/Yours sincerely, Dietmar Strasdat mailto:earthmate@gmx.net RSA 2048 PGP Key 0xBBE4EC81 available
