Re: [suse-security] Location of yast config files (Slightly OT)
According to http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/yast2_pakete_installieren.html you have to do hwscan --cdrom to fix the problem -- __________________ /"\ Markus Gaugusch \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign markus@gaugusch.at X Against HTML Mail / \

OK. Well that looks like it will fix that problem. Thanks Markus. That just leaves my last irksome problem with 8.0 which is the saving of a package listing to floppy then loading that listing onto another machine to duplicate an install/build. This was something that yast1 did happily and if you had removed some packages in your save listing compared to what was selected on the machine you were loading the list onto, it would ask what you wanted to do.. keep them, or remove. Yast2 on the other had adds them regardless, so you end up with nasty situations where you have both cups and lpdng installed and both postfix and sendmail installed (These are two examples, but there are many mores..) SuSE? Any chance of a patch to yast2? regards -Peter

Yup, for me too, thanks.

Actually, as of SuSE 8 that works for me. I installed my two servers here and my one at home with the same package listing. You're having a problem with it? Stefan
