Hmm , well i think that SUSE 6.3 ships with apache-mod_ssl built in.. Correct me if i'm wrong..
Are you using it with the International version of SUSE? I think it must be non-functional until you have:
-rwxr-xr-x root root 825888 Nov 09 03:50 /usr/lib/apache/libssl.so
And it appears you must install the mod_ssl package to get libssl.so. So, once again, where is the mod_ssl package to be found?

What series c? When I go into yast there is nothing between beo and d. This is the international version bought in USA. 6.3.
btw you should know how to find packages or files if you are using SuSE
