I did not investigate further, but for me my master.cf has been overwritten by yast online update. this was a problem for my avgate which listens on port 25. after installing the patch postfix wanted to bind on port 25. i'm sure others have similiar problems. thomas -- Just because the message may never be received does not mean it is not worth sending.

main.cf is (from the spec file): %config(noreplace) /etc/postfix/main.cf /etc/aliases.db is not contained in the postfix package. So no, it won't be replaced. BUT: The following run of SuSEconfig, module postfix, will make modifications to main.cf and rebuild the aliases.db by hand.
