I'm running the SuSE 6.4 firewall on my server at home, with a small intranet being masqueraded. It works great except for a few internet programs that don't work properly. I disabled most of the server functions to keep it an even tighter firewall, since I don't really need them running anyway. One of the most intriguing questions I have is; how I would get ICQ to be able to do direct file transfers through the firewall? Do I need to enable one of the server functions or setup a proxy server?
Hi, may be http://www.e-infomax.com/ipmasq/appsup.html would be worth looking at. HtH Dan Ball wrote:
