mod_ssl Update for S.u.S.E. Linux 7.0 available?
HI! I'm using S.u.S.E. Linux 7.0. I've downloaded updated RPMs of Apache 1.3.19 and several modules but I can't find a mod_ssl RPM which fits that version of Apache. Am I missing something? Ciao, Michael.

Looks so :-) The mod_ssl rpms are on ftp.suse._de_ as they were underlying export limitations at that time; see ftp://ftp.suse.de/pub/suse/i386/update/7.0/ Cheers, Peter -- +49-911-74053-340 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't Be Jealous Of My Big Endian

Thank you. But wouldn't it be nice to mention that at least on http://www.suse.de/de/support/download/updates/70_i386.html ? ^^^^^ And I'm pretty sure that other users might be also confused about http://www.suse.de/de/support/download/updates/71_i386.html pointing to ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/update/7.1/sec2/mod_ssl.rpm. ^^^^ BTW: http://www.suse.de/de/support/download/updates/70_i386.html notes that the Apache update is a security update. But unfortunately it's not mentioned on http://www.suse.de/de/support/security/. IMHO one should be able to rely on getting all security notes by solely monitoring http://www.suse.de/de/support/security/. Ciao, Michael.

I have to admit that the respective note at the top of that page is quite unconspicious.
And I'm pretty sure that other users might be also confused about http://www.suse.de/de/support/download/updates/71_i386.html pointing to ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/update/7.1/sec2/mod_ssl.rpm. ^^^^
For 7.1 we are allowed to put mod_ssl on that server, so in this case the URL is allowed (and even valid, isn't it?). Do you mean it is confusing that - for 7.0 there is no link, but a note that refers to .de - for 7.1 there is a link that points to .com for mod_ssl?

You are right, thanks for the hint! Gruesse, Peter -- +49-911-74053-340 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't Be Jealous Of My Big Endian

I just tried the link on the 7.1 page and substituted "s/7.1/7.0/". Sorry - my fault - I did not read the note at top of the page http://www.suse.de/de/support/download/updates/70_i386.html. Personally I find the security announcements S.u.S.E. already sent containing URLs to all packages of different S.u.S.E. versions the most convenient way for retrieving updates. Sometimes admins have to maintain a bunch of machines running different versions. We're all in a hurry... ;-) Ciao, Michael.
