RE: [suse-security] Restricting rsync to ssh only
rsync will launch ssh and execute rsync --server on the remote side.
Is it just me or is that option undocumented in the man page (package: SuSE 7.3, rsync-2.4.6-153)? Cheers Tobias

Must be just you: $ rpm -q rsync rsync-2.4.6-153 from man rsync: -e, --rsh=COMMAND This option allows you to choose an alternative remote shell program to use for communication between the local and remote copies of rsync. By default, rsync will use rsh, but you may like to instead use ssh because of its high security. You can also choose the remote shell program using the RSYNC_RSH environment variable.
