I want to set up a alarm script that texts me everytime it discovers something strange. It would be perfect if i could mail it to a sms gateway or something similar which would send it to my mobile number.

NOTE: It's a german mobile.

Is there a way? Or would a 12345678@provider.de already work?

One way to do this is to connect cheap GSM phone to your computer, another is probably to use an ISP or service to pass email to phone. I think there has been an article about the former kind of thing in Linux Magazine (the UK version).
