[opensuse-security] A question about the latest update situation ( 10.3 specific)
Hello all you wonderful people... and, to the rest of you as well. ;) Sorry, I probably should know the answer to this one, but I don't , or at least I don't remember if I do know it.. hence, a question to Marcus , or anyone else that knows.. I notice there is no update for the 64bit boxen.. or I missed that if there was, and I did look more than once. Am I to use the i586 version ? OR wait til YAST/zypper tells me there is an update/security fix available? As I said I probably should know this... Help, please ... anyone? ( The usual rewards apply <G> ) TIA, y'all j I've lived in the real world enough, we're all here because we ain't all there. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-security+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-security+help@opensuse.org

There are lots of updates for both 32bit and 64bit. I recently had my brother tell me the same (no updates/all updates installed), ran fou4s and there were lots of updates to install ... Seems I need to get fou4s going for the broad masses again ASAP :) Markus -- __________________ /"\ Markus Gaugusch \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign markus(at)gaugusch.at X Against HTML Mail / \ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-security+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-security+help@opensuse.org

The question is to what packages you refer here? We supply updates for all architectures of a package at the same time, in the same update repository. And updates are flowing out steadily, you should get 1 or 2 every weekday usually ;) CIao, Marcus --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-security+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-security+help@opensuse.org

What update source did you add (you did add an update source didn't you)? Updates have worked flawlessly for me on all 3 of my 64 bit installs, even during install. -- Joe Morris Registered Linux user 231871 running openSUSE 10.3 x86_64 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-security+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-security+help@opensuse.org

Yes, but I am asking vis a vis the Security notice they sent out yesterday regarding several updates . All the 10.3 sources or sites said i586 .. there wasn't anything for 64bit athlons.. see quotation from that email below. **********************************************************************

Looks further down, there are both "x86-64 Platform" and "Power PC Platform: " sections containing also openSUSE 10.3 references.
