Hi list, i am trying to install logwatch 6.0.1-4 on a suse professional 9.0 but i have the following failed dependencies: perl(Exporter) perl(Getopt::Long) perl(POSIX) perl(File::Temp) perl(strict) I don't kown what rpm i must install to resolve. Yast doesn't resolve the dependencies. Thanks, Cristian Del Carlo
i think you'll have to install these perl-packages using the cpan-tool for updating the perl-installation. hth luk

Hi, if i do the following command : # perl -MCPAN -e shell
install Getopt::Long
I have that Getopt::Long is up to date. But if do the command :
install File::Temp
I have the error :
......
Checking if your kit is complete...
Looks good
Writing Makefile for File::Temp
-- NOT OK
Running make test
Can't test without successful make
Running make install
make had returned bad status, install seems impossible
Any idea ?
Thanks.

Hi,
... i have the following failed dependencies: perl(Exporter) perl(Getopt::Long) perl(POSIX) perl(File::Temp) perl(strict)
I had the same problem on SuSE 8.1. Two perl-modules (I think Getopt::Long and File::Tmp) really weren't there, I installed them via cpan, but still got the same error. I added the parameter "--nodeps" to the rpm line and got logwatch installed without any problems; it works fine.

Any idea ?
Can you try this line:
perl -e 'use Exporter; use Getopt::Long; use POSIX; use File::Temp; use strict'
? It tries to load these five modules... does it or do you get an error?

Yes, it means you have these modules installed. I would try now to install logwatch by using the command rpm --nodeps -ivh logwatch-6.0.1-4.noarch.rpm Should work without problems. Then you can try to execute logwatch --print and after a few seconds you should have the log-report on your screen. Greetings, Felix Günther
Thanks Felix,
it's ok, i have installed logwatch ad it works without problems.
Thanks again,
