Qpopper 2.53 and older may permit an attacker who has access to a valid account to obtain a shell with group-id 'mail', potentially allowing read/write access to all mail. All users of Qpopper are urged to upgrade to the current version. Qpopper on Linux Linux users should not use versions of Qpopper older than 3.0.

SVGA console

Has anyone had a problem compiling new kernels with vga = xxx and the screen blanking out? It works perfect with the default kernels that come with the system. At first I thought it was something I was doing, but after consulting another admin, he runs into the same problem. The system is fully functional, DNS, SSH, etc. work fine. I've tried with SuSE 6.3 and 6.4, and Slackware 7. I've tried from kernel 2.2.13 - 2.2.15. It has to be an option that I'm missing or a component somewhere. I really need to compile a custom kernel, and could really use the extra resolution to work in the console. Any help/pointers in the right direction would be extremely appreciated. How to NOT log a packet

Strange question maybe, but my ISP is @home and for several weeks I get loads of traffic (broadcasts) from an internal ip adres. I use SuSEfirewall and he logs all these packets perfectly. Only I don't want that because these packets arrive every second (!) so this way my logs are growing very fast. So until @home manages to stop the broadcasts from this individual I like not to log these packets. I guess it starts something like ipchains -A input -j DENY -s 192.168.0.1 -p udp -i eth1 but what should come after that. Bear in mind please that I also use SuSEfirewall who takes care of the logging. Should I edit the SuSEfirewall script to succeed? MD5 Passwords and Sudo

Hey, I'm running SuSE 6.4 on an AMD-K6/2 450Mhz with a 20 gig drive, 128 meg memory and a 24 speed burner. I have recently switched my PC over to MD5 passwords. The passwords work fine, but doing so I broke sudo. I added the extra option of "md5" in the /etc/pam.d/passwd file after nullok. But now I can't sudo. I have tried adding the same option to the /etc/pam.d/sudo file, but it still didn't fix anything. Can someone help me here... Hi all, I've recently instaled a ftp server with SuSE 6.4. I'm using wuftpd and it has a problem with the dir command, it's output isn't well formated. It's not a security issue but reviewing the updates I've seen that the 6.3 wuftpd had this bug and a buffer overflow. Is the 6.4 wuftpd the same of 6.3 or has this security bug fixed?
