Date: Wed Jan 30 19:41:08 2008 +0100 PATCH: Report PANEL as disconnected when no modes are available
Report PANEL as disconnected when no modes are available
This patch actually makes PANEL never report as connected, even when rhd_conntest seems to report otherwise, when an external monitor is connected. Bug is observed on a Thinkpad T60 with Mobility X1300 connected to an external DVI monitor via a Thinkpad Advanced MiniDock. External LCD operates normally, but laptop panel remains off, and xrandr reports it as not connected. Running `xrandr --auto' has no effect. I will try to provide some logs for different monitor setup when I find some free time, which may be a few days wait. For now, I've just removed this patch so I can get some work done. - Yang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
i think this patch has also broken something else. since this commit i get the following situation: a (1400x1050 i think) desktop (as it should be) but my panel only shows a part of that (640x480?) stretched to fullscreen. if i move the mouse to the edges i can scroll on the desktop, so every point is accessible. but that's definitively not good. i attach xorg.log from the last run and am happy that radeon also supports r500 chips ^^ Yang Zhao schrieb:

Oops. I thought I understood what the patch is doing, apparently I overlooked something.

I don't think we need logs yet. I'll revert the patch and check how we
can make it work as intended.

This has now been reverted.
We have to check for the availability of panels in the non-AtomBIOS case
in a different way.
