Here's my naive attempt at adding it to rhd_id.c. It doesn't work, I
just get a black screen :( Please help us go.

I have the same model. Its got one vga, one hdmi connectors. The lcd
screen is 15.4" 1680x1050 native. And there is a huge connector for

Not a clue since I don't know what TMDSA is. I captured all of these from the fglrx driver. no connection under avivo is slightly different: Checking connectors on 0x71C5, 0x1025, 0x010A (@01:00:00): Load Detection: RHD_OUTPUT_TMDSA HotPlug: RHD_HPD_0 DDC: RHD_DDC_NONE LVDS Info: 18bits, dual link, LDI Panel found. What is the difference between coldplug and hotplug here?
hotplug is starting X with nothing plugged in, and then plugging it in and getting output on the display. coldplug is starting X with the connector plugged in.

The panel is 1680x1050. The digital output is HDMI, the DVI cable that comes with the notebook plugs into this port. I've never used an HDMI<->HDMI cable with this notebook, only the HDMI<->DVI cable. The notebook also has a standard 15 pin analog VGA plug. In addition, there is a S-Video/composite connector as well as a docking station port. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org

I was really hoping that with all the new connector detection stuff, things would just work (tm). No such luck. I did notice that the x logs have more information now. I've attached an x log without the following stanza, and with the following stanza + { 0x71C5, 0x1025, 0x010a, "Acer Ferrari 5000", PANEL_B_VGA_A0, + { 0xF9F, 0x000, 0x03, 0x19, 0x1F4}},
