0x9591:0x1179:0xFF01: Mobility Radeon HD 3650
Hi, The problem I am having with the above mentioned card is with a toshiba laptop, model Satellite A350 22Z. When X is started using the radeonhd driver, it gets terminated immediately. It never manages to start up. The log file is attached for the error messages. If it helps, I was unsuccessful with the old radeon driver as well. In that case, I just got a blank screen with no response from my keyboard from that point on. However, the computer was not frozen, I was able to power it off properly with the power button. Closed sourced ATI driver did not help at all either. I had a similar situation with that as well. So, I am currently stuck with the vesa drivers. I would be extremely grateful if you could help me to at least manage to run X! I am very willing to help you test your code or help in any other way I can. Kind Regards, M. Giritli
What happens if you disable acceleration, either by removing Option "DRI" or setting AccelMethod to "shadowfb" rather than EXA" ? -----Original Message----- From: Mehmet Giritli [mailto:mgiritli@informatik.uni-freiburg.de] Sent: Thursday, August 20, 2009 3:05 PM To: radeonhd@opensuse.org Subject: [radeonhd] 0x9591:0x1179:0xFF01: Mobility Radeon HD 3650 Hi, The problem I am having with the above mentioned card is with a toshiba laptop, model Satellite A350 22Z. Hi,
The problem I am having with the above mentioned card is with a toshiba laptop, model Satellite A350 22Z.
lots of satellite laptop had funky mtrr setups. See this thread: http://lists.opensuse.org/radeonhd/2009-05/msg00040.html Alex -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
Unfortunately, the solution provided there did not work. I changed the kernel configuration options for MTRR and also tried the boot params just to be sure but there was no improvement. Is this a kernel MTRR bug? Shall I submit a kernel bug about this? Do you have any other suggestions? Best, M.Giritli On Thu, 2009-08-20 at 15:30 -0400, Alex Deucher wrote:

Sure sounds a lot like the effects of the 2e2e4d118e497 1.2.5 commit that killed my x1200 card as well. Hopefully the problem will be found soon ;-) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
