Hello I'm writing you in regards of the problem with my video card. When I'm trying to use the redeonhd driver, the screen seems to switch from the text mode and the became blurry. After that its fading out from the black to white (in the plasma style ), it continues forever evolving from black to white with random tincture of green. The system works fine with the radeon driver (DRI is ON, Xvideo is ON as well). I've tried with different kernels available on my gentoo system: currently I'm on (uname -a): Linux localhost 2.6.31-tuxonice #1 SMP Sun Oct 11 19:18:31 EDT 2009 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T2330 @ 1.60GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux I also added to xorg.log files : Xorg.0.log.old -- the trial start with radeonhd driver(the one causing all the artifacts described above) Xorg.0.log -- working radeon drivers I'would appreciate any help on that. If you need some additional information let me know Dmitriy

Sounds like the panel isn't driven any longer. This is actually a dangerous situation, if this runs too long you really damage your panel (physically!).
The system works fine with the radeon driver (DRI is ON, Xvideo is ON as well).
O-key. That's... interesting. So RS600 works fine with radeon. Hm.
Another thing on the todo list...
