rhd_conntest of X1400 on Toshiba A100-773
Hi, I just run rhd_conntest on a Toshiba Satellite A100-773. Hi.
I just run rhd_conntest on a Toshiba Satellite A100-773.
# lspci -nn | grep ATI 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [Class 0300]: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility X1400 [1002:7145]
Pushed, thanks, Updated to todays buildservice version ... # rpm -q xorg-x11-driver-video-radeonhd xorg-x11-driver-video-radeonhd-0.0.1-28.1 ... and got a little further. See attached SaX.log.
I do not have an external monitor at the moment to see what happens. The notebook LCD blinks two times on starting SaX and I see in the top fifth of the screen the 1st-console and the rest is black. greetings Felix Möller

Fantastic! Now I get errors in rhdAtomExec(): my framebuffer has not been "mapped" into rhdPtr->FbBase by xf86MapPciMem(), though rhdAtomBIOSAllocateFbScratch(), which uses RHDAtomBIOSFunc instead of an X function, succeeds! I also get a message that says "Failed to detect a connected monitor", unless the external VGA is connected... is this because I'm using a laptop panel? Speaking of which, here's the conntest output for a Dell Inspiron 6400 with Mobility Radeon X1400 and an external monitor connected: Checking connectors on 0x7145, 0x1028, 0x2003 (@01:00:00): Load Detection: RHD_OUTPUT_DACA HotPlug: RHD_HPD_NONE DDC: RHD_DDC_NONE LVDS Info: 18bits, dual link, LDI Panel found. Thanks alot this seems to be getting alot further now. The panel seems even to be detected but it fails with: (II) RADEONHD(0): Validating Fixed Modes from Monitor "SEC-3633" on "Panel" (II) RADEONHD(0): FUNCTION: rhdModeValidateCrtc (II) RADEONHD(0): FUNCTION: DxFBValid: CRTC 1 (II) RADEONHD(0): DxModeValid: CRTC 1 (II) RADEONHD(0): FUNCTION: PLLValid (II) RADEONHD(0): FUNCTION: LVDSModeValid (II) RADEONHD(0): Rejected mode "1280x800" (1280x800:68.9Mhz): horizontal sync too narrow (EE) RADEONHD(0): No valid modes found See attached SaX2 log. A monitor from the config file, no reduced blanking allowed. Hopefully, when you adjust your config file, things will magically work... hopefully :) Thanks. Luc Verhaegen. Hi,
A monitor from the config file, no reduced blanking allowed.
Hopefully, when you adjust your config file, things will magically work... hopefully :) It works now great out of the box, the internal Display is working!
But I have a problem with suspend/resume. Have a look at the following screenshot: http://www.privatvermietung-kiel.de/tmp/pict0038.jpg I get this after resuming. The system still works. I can type in commands to shut it down cleanly. But the display is useless. :-( I cannot switch to any console after resume. The screen there is just black. many thanks for your work so far Felix Möller -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org

I cannot switch to any console after resume. The screen there is just black. Resume is working for me now. After putting S2RAM_OPTS="--force --vbe_post --vbe_mode --vbe_save" in my /etc/pm/config.d/config.
With just one of "--vbe_mode --vbe_save" only Xorg comes back and the consoles are blank. With booth it works perfectly. I am using xorg-x11-driver-video-radeonhd-0.0.1-58.1. So thanks alot! Attempt #4... will this one get through to the list???? On September 26, 2007, Luc Verhaegen wrote:

I get two images (both badly distorted) on my CRT, and each one has a tiny resolution (I think it's 1024x768) no matter what I put in my xorg.conf. I hope this helps (and I hope it actually hits the list this time)! #!/jon -- Jonathan Anderson jonathan.anderson@ieee.org
