RE: [radeonhd] reduce the amount of RAM installed on newer ASUS laptops
..."Known Bugs & Limitations" section which textullay says:
"**Newer ASUS laptops with more than 2GB of memory** ... several reports about getting RadeonHD to work on Linux on ASUS laptops ... --> For now
Come on, is that true? remove my RAM? is there any other way to have it
working?
Do you think it depends on the distro? at this time I've been working with
ubuntu 8.10, but it seems it might work in other distros, openSuse for
example, because I've tried also in fedora and mandriva and it doesn't work!
Or it might depend on the brand? ASUS, what do you think? At this time I've
found several reports for ASUS, unofficial and no solutions so far.

only work around is to **reduce the amount of RAM installed to 2GB or less**"
First, try doing a BIOS update as suggested. If that doesn't work, the guidance on the wiki refers to having only 2GB of physical memory installed. You need to remove enough RAM modules such that only 2GB of physical memory remain. Consult the relevant manuals for your laptop on how to perform this. Oki, let's try it more from the academic side:
It's most likely the BIOS, but maybe we can do a lucky punch in reviewing all the other parts involved.
What info do we need to pin it down?
I'm working on a Sony VGN-SR21MS which has
.) Intel PM45 Express chipset
.) 4GB (2x2) DDR-3/800 RAM

If you need other info, then tell me what/how to produce.
