[opensuse-project] Dead project on github: openSUSE/vagrant
Hi list,
do we have a policy how to address dead upstream projects from the
openSUSE project?
I have submitted a pull request to the openSUSE/vagrant project 3 months
ago to replace it's current state with a set of new build recipes that
I've been working on and that are now used to build the official
Tumbleweed Vagrant box on Vagrant Cloud. Unfortunately, the project
appears to be dead properly (afaik the main maintainer does no longer
work for SUSE) and my pull request has only been reviewed by external
contributors.
Can we do something about this? I'd be willing to (co-)maintain this
project, so that the build recipes can finally be public. Or I'd request
a new project to be created and archive openSUSE/vagrant instead?
Cheers,
Dan

As someone with admin access to the openSUSE github organisation, the fact I know you and your vagrant expertise, and the fact I can confirm the repo seems to be unmaintained, I've added you as a maintainer of the repo. If anyone objects to this (especially Henne or Adam who also have access), please speak up :) Regards, Richard -- Richard Brown Linux Distribution Engineer - Future Technology Team Phone +4991174053-361 SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, D-90409 Nuernberg (HRB 36809, AG Nürnberg) Geschäftsführer: Felix Imendörffer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

As I am maintaining vagrant together with Dan (although he is doing most of the work lately) I would volunteer to also co-maintain that repo with him (if he wants me to). ojkastl_buildservice on OBS johanneskastl on github Kind Regards Johannes -- Johannes Kastl Linux Consultant & Trainer Tel.: +49 (0) 151 2372 5802 Mail: kastl@b1-systems.de B1 Systems GmbH Osterfeldstraße 7 / 85088 Vohburg http://www.b1-systems.de GF: Ralph Dehner Unternehmenssitz: Vohburg / AG: Ingolstadt,HRB 3537

I would welcome any help and from Johannes even more. Unless anyone
screams stop, I'm going to add him to the team.
