[opensuse-project] Localised openSUSE Live CDs - Iberian edition
Hello everyone! I was wondering if it would be possible to have the openSUSE Live CDs - Iberian edition hosted by the openSUSE Project. By Iberian edition I mean the openSUSE 11.3 Official Live CDs localised at least to European Portuguese (pt_PT) and Castilian Spanish (es_ES). We would maintain the Live CDs ourselves. The only problem I see now is that it would require more resources on openSUSE's servers. This is part of an initiative to promote openSUSE in the Iberian peninsula. http://lizards.opensuse.org/2010/12/02/christmas-dinner-11th-december-aveiro... portugal/ Greetings, -- Javier Llorente
Javier,
you missed Catalan... just an idea...

I said "localised *at least* to European Portuguese and Castilian Spanish." AFAIK, openSUSE is also translated into Catalan and Galician. Of course, they are more than welcome to join our initiative. Greetings, -- Javier Llorente
Javier,
maybe you can build the official isos on the obs but publish them only
on spanish and portughese mirrors, with a news item and links on the
main opensuse.org if bandwith is an issue.
One of the obs magicians will still have to set up some obs
iberia-project to allow isos to be built.

Alin

That could be another possibility; building the Live CDs in a different project (ie: opensuse-iberia) and ask Iberian mirrors to host them. We would also have to adapt part of software.o.o to include new links. Cheers, -- Javier Llorente
