Hi, very rarely I'm looking into openFATE just out of curiosity and so I found at least one feature request which affects me directly. So I'm wondering how the process is supposed to work? I somehow expect that I would have never seen the feature request and therefore I pretty much doubt that somebody ever would have looked into it at all. Who makes sure to route the stuff to the right persons? How do these people know who the right persons are? I also would like to know if there's someone to mark features as duplicates/closed/important for release 11.x etc.. Because i've seen features already implemented on 11.3 and are not market as such. To get openfate notifications, you currently have to subscribe at hermes.opensuse.org. People don't get subscribed automatically atm. Maybe that's something we should change so the users get subscribed to the default notifications initially. Well, do you have any idea how to subscribe the right people automatically? Since the requests are opened against openSUSE 11.3 and not Mozilla, it's kind of hard to guess that Wolfgang should be subscribed, isn't it? Sure, to assign the right person is something different. I meant subscribing people to change notifications of features that include them. We already added a link to hermes at the right side of each feature on openfate, but it seems for many people it's not obvious that they have to configure hermes before they get mails. Ah, sorry, I misunderstood. I thought the hermes configuration was automatically done at some point in the past -- at least, I don't remember doing it myself. But I might be wrong... In my opinion a defined group of people, probably the openFATE screening team should receive additional right and in general some features should be added to make address eg. Hi,
General improvement: - adding of info provider possible everyone This is a missing feature, correct. But IMO we once defined that as a job for the screening team some time ago.
- info provider receives a notification Given already if the person signs up in Hermes.
- adding of additional people (interested, developer etc.) This is possible already in the openFATE client, just on the pencil and than "Add myself as interested" or "Add myself as developer"
- make it visible if there is a developer for a feature. If there's no developer we can use this for a "call for action" for people to take care of the feature Thats indeed a missing feature, even though it is possible to subscribe as developer.
- make Hermes visible and intuitive to work with and/or notify per default everyone with a role in a feature when it changes Could it be more visible and intuitive than a prominent link on the openFATE page saying "Subscribe to feature change notifications" together with the fate logo? It's there. And it is also mentioned at several places that you need to click in Hermes before you get this notifications. I think that's sufficient?!? IMO we lack a page that appears after your first login and makes it easy to subscribe to all needed messages.
Rights for screening team: - change the status of a feature (duplicate, need info, done, implementation etc.)
Yes, needed. BTW, more on the whole process can be read here: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenFATE/Documentation regards, Klaas -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

Given already if the person signs up in Hermes. Exactly this if is the issue. We should guide people better to Hermes imo. Why not requester and people commenting in a feature guide actively to Hermes so

But what about adding another person which I know will be interested or maybe even is the developer or maintainer?

Maybe I'm blind but this morning I couldn't find the Hermes logo on my large screen and actually asked a colleague if he finds it - he couldn't. Just now on my small screen I found it - strange.
And it is also mentioned at several places that you need to click in Hermes before you get this notifications. I think that's sufficient?!? Yes, such a page would help and maybe not only after first login but when requesting or commenting on a feature.

I added a pointer to hermes in the success message after creating and saving a feature.
